Online tool for mapping relationships: friends, family, colleagues – work in progress.
I find it quiet difficult to keep track of all of my extended group of social connections and their relationships to me and others. I’m terrible with names and I often can’t relate names to faces. Many times I ask myself – what was the name of that friend from my undergraduate degree, or my previous job, etc.
Since I have a strong visual memory, I set out to build a tool to map my friends, family, colleagues and other connections. The plan is to create an intuitive tool allowing adding and manipulating connections as nodes to create a graphic representation of groups and connections.
Further concepts to develop: 1. Better automatic connection to social graphs – facebook, LinkedIn, email, etc. 2. More advanced categorization. 3. Add pictures. 4. Follow level of contact, be able to visually map who I’ve been in touch with and who I’m forgetting.
