The Pomert Exhibition is an interactive scientific exhibition presenting a unique collection of scientific artifacts from the 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th century designed for Madatech, the Israel National Museum of Science and Technology.Collected by Henry Pomert, it is a rich collection composed primarily of microscopes, telescopes, and measurement devices. The artifacts on display were carefully chosen to represent different stages in the history of scientific inquiry, advances in precise instrument manufacture and the aesthetic beauty of these veritable works of art.
In order to relate these instruments to visitors of all ages to the museum, a mixture of interactive exhibits, media and graphic elements were used to guide the the visit and present opportunities to interact and understand the various tools and scientific principles behind the instruments.
Amongst these exhibits are a virtual telescope based on current star positions and global position, a open modular microscope, an interactive sextant, and animated panels explaining the refraction of light inside these systems.
